Spring Conclave 2013 Information

A big thank you to everyone who signed up online for Spring Conclave. If you have not signed up online you can still go to the Spring Conclave as a walk-in. There is a five dollar additional fee for walk-ins. Recently we have been getting a lot of e-mail about what to bring and carpooling. The following is a list of items that you may wish to have this weekend.

Additional Gear: In addition to the standard list of personal camping gear that is outlined in the Boy Scout handbook on pages 292-293.

  • One complete “Class A” uniform and OA Sash.
  • Personal Electronics* (mobile phone, iPod, camera, Game Boy, iPad, computer, etc.).
  • Sun Protection and Gear.
  • Swimming Suit and Beach Towel.
  • Optional Tent (refer to notes in camping section)

For those taking brotherhood:

  • Your OA Handbook (limited number of chapter OA Handbooks available)
  • Paper and pen for writing/notetaking
  • Whittling knife or a pocket knife

* Note: All brothers are responsible for their own personal gear and will respect others in the use of electronics.

Camping: Tosohatchee has campsite 12 (Pawnee) and 11 (Ponca) reserved. A campsite 12 is reserved for late night/early morning activities (no curfew). Campsite 11 is a “lights out & all quiet” at 10:00 PM area. Not much sleeping really happens in campsite 12. Tosohatchee brothers should choose a campsite that will suit them for the weekend. All bunks inside the activity shelter’s are reserved for adult leaders. Brothers that are not comfortable sleeping in one of the LaNoChe camp tents may bring their own tent or move their camp cots into the activity shelter (while space is available). Our goal is to make sure that everyone has a great time in a comfortable, safe and friendly environment.

Fall Fellowship Carpool

Ahoy me OA bretheren,

Our theme this weekend is OA the Pirates of Scouting! Our regular weekend carpool will be making berth from the Waterford Winn-Dixie. We are planning to parlay the troops at 5:30 PM and setting sail at 6 PM. Make sure you bring your swords, sashes, eyepatch, and ye three cornered hat. We are sailing into oblivion with all sheets to the wind. All you scalawags desiring to partake in our flotilla, must report to Capt. Richards. The good Capt. will hoist anchor without thee, if ye not crew, balance or cargo. Bring some doubloons for we dine at sea. Hoist a mug of root beer and the adventure will begin.

RTPC,

Capt. Richards

Intensive Elangomat Training

Just another reminder about the Intensive Elangomat Training that we will be offering at Fall Fellowship this weekend. We are asking that each chapter provide three people to go through this course. Please let me know who will be attending from your chapter, so that I can know who and how many to expect. We need at least three from each chapter, but you are encouraged to send even more. This will be the best opportunity to train Elangomats for your chapter ordeal and I would hate to see anybody miss out. Please promote this to your members, especially those who have already registered for the weekend or anybody who plans on coming as a walk in. Remember, there is no additional cost for this priceless training event, we would just like to know about how many to expect so that we can prepare everything we need in advance.

The training will last about 5 hours total. There will be a session on Friday night from about 10pm – midnight, and we will resume during the Saturday morning classes from 9 – noon. Participants will still be able to participate in all other aspects of the weekend, and do not need to bring anything with them. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any other questions about this amazing opportunity.

See you all this weekend!

Elangomat Training at Fall Fellowship

Brothers,

Just a reminder that we will be offering Intensive Elangomat Training at Fall Fellowship on September 7-9 at Camp LaNoChe. Ideally every Elangomat would get to attend this event, but as a minimum we are asking that every chapter send 3 people (preferably youth) to Fall Fellowship to take this course. Properly trained Elangomats are the key to a successful ordeal, and this is the best opportunity all year to get trained! There will be a session with a real Pre-Ordeal ceremony on Friday night (don’t worry, it’ll be after the crackerbarrell and wont take long), and another during the classes on Saturday morning! Participants will still be able to participate in all aspects of the weekend and will be recognized during the Sunday morning business meeting. Please promote this to your chapter members so we can have a great turnout at this event.

Pre-registration is not required and there is no additional fee for this priceless training event, however it would be great if you could give us a heads up if you know you or somebody else would like to attend so we can make sure to have enough materials for everybody. If you have any questions, just let me know.

See you all at Fall Fellowship!

2012 Fall Fellowship

Brothers,

I would like to personally invite you and your chapter to the 2012 Fall Fellowship at Camp La-No-Che.

Are you land lubbers ready for set sail on a quest of epic proportions. This Pirates of the Caribbean themed weekend will put chapter against chapter in the quest for the greatest treasure in all the 7 seas, the fabled golden arrow. We will also see which chapter has what it takes to bring home the Spirit Cone. We will also provide insightful and engaging training opportunities, so our arrowmen can climb the ranks from swabbing the decks to captaining their own ships.

For those brothers that have served as Ordeal members for at least 10 months and seek to seal their membership in our order we will be offering Botherhood at this event. The cost for brotherhood is an additional $15 for the new sash.

In Brotherhood,

Sam Korn
Second Vice Lodge Chief
